The HSC is an internationally recognised qualification, awarded to students who have successfully completed secondary education in New South Wales. It offers a highly flexible and accessible structure, with a wide variety of subjects to choose from.
St Catherine’s offers up to 40 courses in the HSC year. We aim to offer a wide variety of subjects to enable our students to investigate their passions, challenge themselves and achieve their best.
All students at St Catherine’s study Board Developed Courses, which are set and externally examined by NESA.
The range is extensive, giving students greater flexibility in what they can choose – and what suits their individual interests and skillsets. It includes but is not limited to: English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Business Studies, PDHPE, Languages and Design and Technology.
At their completion, these courses can contribute to the calculation of an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR).
Students have all the support they need through their final senior years, as they determine their choice of subjects and how to manage their time and effort effectively.
Each student is paired with an academic mentor for the duration of their senior years, to offer individualised support and guidance.
Our holistic Academic Care program also helps ensure that students maintain a sense of balance, and remain positive through their senior years of study.
Although we are an academically non-selective school, our results are consistently outstanding. Our supportive and active learning environment encourages students to do their best and challenge themselves to achieve achieve remarkable results.
