Our immersive Learning Enrichment program provides a range of activities aimed at enhancing personal academic development, offering further challenge for those who have the capacity, and appropriate support where additional help may be needed.
Our experienced Learning Enrichment team works across the school helping to stimulate, extend and inspire learning journeys for those in need of assistance or further extension at an individual level.
We recognise that some students need extra challenges to get the most out of their education, and we work with them and teachers to tailor a program which challenges areas of strength, offers extension opportunities in specific subjects, or provides acceleration beyond their current year level.
A student who is identified as gifted has an individual profile created which is shared with all her teachers, and she is interviewed annually to ensure staff have current information to cater for her high potential and areas of interest.
We offer many opportunities to take part in enrichment activities that stimulate the mind and extend learning including The da Vinci Decathlon, Tournament of Minds, Write a Book in a Day, ISDA and Archdale debating, The Law Society of NSW Mock Trial Competition and the Future Problem Solving Program.
Our girls are closely monitored right from Kindergarten to make sure they are performing to standard academically and getting to grips with their learning. From time to time some girls may have difficulty in grasping a particular aspect and need additional encouragement or support, and we provide appropriate intervention to help overcome these stumbling blocks. This can include literacy and numeracy, curriculum subjects, assessments, study skills, organisation and exam preparation.
Our specialist teachers also manage specific learning difficulties, and liaise with other school staff and external consultants to develop a suitable learning support plan.
All progress is monitored and we work collaboratively with teachers, families and specialists to maintain a consistent and informed learning approach.
We also provide an English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EAL/D) program for girls whose primary language is not English.
They receive help with English to support their learning and have access to specialist teachers right across the curriculum.
In the 2022 HSC, one of our EAL/D students came first in the state in this subject. A further three students placed within the top ten.
Our Global Enrichment program gives students the opportunity to gain an understanding of international issues and to discover diverse culture for a globally-connected future.
Activities are varied and are designed around the students’ interests and passions.
